The Women of Pembroke Portrait Exhibition - Final Day

Sat 31 January

Pembroke College

To mark the 40th anniversary of the admission of women students in 1984, Pembroke commissioned the Taylor Wessing award-winning portrait photographer, Jooney Woodward, to shoot a series of group portraits of women across the Pembroke community: alumnae, Fellows past and present, students and staff.

Twenty-six photographs were shot between March and June 2025, featuring 88 sitters, across a range of College locations, some familiar, some less well-known.

Each photograph has a specific theme, such as Engineering, Politics & Policy, Catering & Hospitality, and the groups of sitters ranged in size from two to five women.

All the portraits were shot on film, using a Mamiya RZ medium format camera.
