The Robert Cripps Gallery
The Robert Cripps Gallery at Magdalene College is delighted to present a linocut workshop, in which participants will design and create their own lino blocks, and then print them.
The event will start in the Robert Cripps Gallery for a brief viewing of the exhibition for inspiration, and then we will proceed to the Buckingham Room to design, carve, and print our linocuts.
Please arrive to the Robert Cripps Gallery in the New Library. Attendees are welcome to stop by the College's main Porter's Lodge on Magdalene St for directions.
Please bring:
An apron/messy clothes, as we will be using inks.
Optional items to bring:
Any inspiration images or themes you might like to work from.
We will be printing on paper, however attendees are welcome to bring other items they would like to print on (a tote bag, for example.)
We welcome participants of all skill levels! When registering, please let us know your experience with lino cutting:
Beginner: New to lino cutting or have only done it a few times.
Intermediate: Has some experience and confidence in the basics.
Advanced: Regularly practices lino cutting, possibly exhibits or sells prints
All attendees should take the upmost caution when using sharp implements to carve their lino block.
This event is open to attendees 18+. University students and members of the public are welcome; the event is free of charge.
