Wellcome Genome Campus Virtual Open Saturday: Human Genome Project Anniversary

Sat 17 October 2020

Online - zoom

Between September and November, the Wellcome Genome Campus Open Saturday experience is going online. Each month we will bring you a variety of activities, topical conversations, virtual tours of the Campus and much more, all brought to you from the comfort of your home.

October sees the 30th anniversary of the start of the Human Genome Project. Come and discover why it was such a vital project, even for today's science.

Take a laboratory tour with the Wellcome Sanger Institute's Cellular Generation and Phenotyping (CGAP) team. Explore the work they do everyday, including looking at different cell types and changing media. You might even get to see one of their robots in action!

Join our conversation about the important relationship between science and the media with some of our campus media and communication experts.

There will also be the opportunity for face-to-face virtual chat with the researchers and technicians.

Feel free to attend everything, or just drop in for one or two of the activities.
