ONLINE COURSE Exploring garden poetry

Thu 14 October

In this morning session you will be guided through some classic poems from Andrew Marvell and John Clare to more contemporary poets of flowers and gardens. You will be encouraged to share your own thoughts through writing a poem or two – even if you have never tried it before. There will be both written and reading exercises. By the end of the session, you will have encountered some of the key forms of poetry and been inspired to begin or develop your own poems.

The workshop is led by Jackie Bennett. Jackie began her career working on gardening TV programmes, before turning to writing. She is a former editor of The English Garden magazine and author of several books including The Writer’s Garden, Shakespeare’s Gardens and most recently The Artist’s Garden. Jackie lives in Norfolk and is a regular visitor to the Cambridge University Botanic Garden.

This workshop is limited to twelve places to ensure each participant receives 1:1 guidance.

Please note this is an online course. No specialist software is required to participate, but a device with a microphone and webcam will be needed.

This is a live interactive course, and will not be made available as a recording to watch at a later date.

Cost: £40
