Engineering Tripos

With effect from 1 October 2010

The Department of Engineering currently runs successful exchange programmes with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and École Centrale Paris. Students from the Department spend their third year at MIT or École Centrale Paris following a course which counts as Part IIA of the Engineering Tripos. They then return to take the fourth year (Part IIB of the Tripos) in Cambridge. The General Board have now approved a proposal from the Faculty Board of Engineering that the scheme be extended from the academical year 2010 to include the National University of Singapore (NUS). The General Board are satisfied that the arrangements for the proposed exchange programme which mirror those currently in place for the existing exchange programmes are robust and that suitable funding arrangements for participating students are in place. It is expected that initially participation in this new exchange programme will be limited to one or two students a year from each institution.

The Schedule to the regulations for the Engineering Tripos has accordingly been amended as follows:
