SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS

All Souls College proposes to elect up to four Senior Research Fellows with effect from 1 October 2010 (or an agreed later date), in Classical Studies, in Law, and in Mathematics (all subjects broadly conceived).

A Senior Research Fellowship is of comparable academic standing to a Professorship in the University of Oxford. Applicants are expected to have a correspondingly distinguished record of achievement in research.

Further particulars, including details of salary and other terms of appointment, may be obtained from the Warden's Secretary, All Souls College, Oxford, OX1 4AL (email mary.yoe@all-souls.ox.ac.uk). Further information is also available on the College's website (http://www.all-souls.ox.ac.uk/). The deadline for applications is Friday, 25 September 2009.

VISITING FELLOWSHIPS 2010-11

The College proposes to elect a number of Visiting Fellows, for periods of one, two or three terms, in the academical year October 2010 to June 2011. These Fellowships are intended to enable their holders to carry out study and research in Oxford, and to participate in the academic life of the College and the University. Visiting Fellowships are open in all subjects. Applications will be considered from staff of any university or other institution of higher learning, and from other suitably qualified persons who wish to carry out full-time scholarly work in Oxford. In making its final choice, the College will give weight to intellectual quality, to the interest and feasibility of the research project, and to the relevance for it of residence in Oxford. It is not the College's policy to offer Visiting Fellowships to persons holding posts in Oxford or already resident in or near Oxford.

In Trinity Term 2011, the College will host a seminar on the subject Evolution of human cognition, and applications are particularly invited from scholars with expertise in this field.

There is no stipend, but Visiting Fellows will be entitled to accommodation, a study in College, and lunches and dinners without charge. Limited financial subvention may also be offered in exceptional circumstances. Any candidate desiring to take advantage of this provision should write to the Dean of Visiting Fellows at the time of application.

Application forms and further particulars may be obtained from the College website (http://www.all-souls.ox.ac.uk/) or from the Secretary to the Dean of Visiting Fellows, All Souls College, Oxford, OX1 4AL (email julie.edwards@all-souls.ox.ac.uk) to whom all applications should be addressed. Applications must be received by 4 September 2009.

All Souls College is an equal opportunities employer.
