The new regulations of the Nominating Committee, approved by Grace 1 of 23 January 2008 provide for the Committee to be chaired by a member or former member of the Council in class (e) to be appointed by the Council on the nomination of the Proctors and Deputy Proctors. The Proctors have informed the Council that no eligible person is available to undertake this Chairmanship and they have suggested that the Council should propose the appointment of Dame Bridget Ogilvie, the High Steward, who has chaired the Committee under the previous constitution. The Council accepts this suggestion and, accordingly, puts forward a Grace to make provision for this appointment (Grace 1, p. 917).
