Keble College

RESEARCH FELLOW AND TUTOR IN LAW

Keble College proposes to elect a Research Fellow and Tutor in Law for a period of three years (fixed term, non-renewable) from 1 October 2008. Scholars in receipt of another source of income, who would like a College association, are welcome to apply. The person elected may have research interests in any area of law, but there may be preference for someone who can teach one or more of the following: constitutional law, administrative law, or EC law. The teaching stint will be four hours a week, averaged over the 24 week academical year. The Fellow may be asked to help in a limited way with the academic and pastoral organization of the subject and to participate in undergraduate admissions. Informal enquiries may be made to Dr James Edelman (email james.edelman@law.ox.ac.uk).

The Fellow will not be a member of the College Governing Body, but will be a full member of the Senior Common Room and will be entitled to lunch and dinner at the Common Table as well as an academic allowance of £464 a year and a student allowance of £217 a year (both current rates, reviewed annually). A shared room will be available. The stipend for four hours of teaching a week averaged over the year will be £4,256 a year (current rate). In addition, a Fellow who is not in receipt of other salaried or research grant income will receive a housing allowance of £4,018 a year (current rate). The Fellow will be eligible to join USS. Selection will be made on the basis of research record and potential, and teaching ability and experience.

The closing date for applications is Wednesday, 23 July 2008. Candidates should submit a curriculum vitae (including the names, addresses, and telephone numbers of their two referees) and a statement of research activity to Mrs Trish Long, Warden's PA, Keble College, Oxford, OX1 3PG (email trish.long@keble.ox.ac.uk), and should ask their referees to write directly to the Warden's PA by the same date.
