COLLEGE LECTURESHIP IN ENGLISH

Girton College seeks to appoint a College Lecturer in English with effect from 1 October 2008 for a fixed term of twelve months. Applicants must be able to teach sixteenth and seventeenth century English Literature. In particular, they should be prepared to teach Papers 2 and 5 of Part I of the English Tripos (English Literature and its Contexts 1500-1700 and Shakespeare), to supervise undergraduate dissertations in related fields, and to cover the teaching of papers that fall within this period for Part II of the English Tripos. An ability to help with the teaching of tragedy and/or literature of the period 1700-1830 would also be advantageous, but is not essential.

The stipend is currently on a scale of £21,477 to £34,813 a year. The stipend will be pensionable under USS.
