All Souls College

FIVE YEAR NON-RENEWABLE POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS

The College intends to elect up to three Post-Doctoral Research Fellows on Saturday, 21 February 2009. Candidates in the following subjects may apply: Law, History, Philosophy, Economics, Politics, Language and Literature, Classical Studies, Oriental Studies, Social Anthropology, and Mathematical and Theoretical Sciences. (All these subjects will be broadly interpreted. The College hopes to elect one Fellow working in the fields of Mathematical and Theoretical Sciences; the other two Fellowships are open to qualified candidates in any of the other fields.) Successful candidates will normally be expected to take up their Fellowships on 1 October 2009.

The College will accept applications from those who are, or have been, registered for a doctorate at any recognized university, and expects that applicants will have completed their doctorate or be close to completion. The College will not normally accept applications from applicants who were first registered for a higher degree prior to 6 September 2001. If there are special reasons why this is not appropriate for a particular candidate, a statement explaining the reasons why should be included with the application.

Further particulars, including a statement of the College's policy on equal treatment of candidates, may be obtained from the Warden's Secretary, All Souls College, Oxford, OX1 4AL (email mary.yoe@all-souls.ox.ac.uk). Further information can also be found on the College's website (http://www.all-souls.ox.ac.uk). Applications must reach the Warden not later than 19 September 2008.
