PART-TIME LECTORSHIP IN BIBLICAL HEBREW

Applications are invited for the post of part-time Lector in Biblical Hebrew. The primary responsibility of the Lector will be to teach classical Hebrew to graduate students with varying levels of prior knowledge of the language. Experience in teaching Biblical Hebrew at university level is highly desirable. The Lector will be expected to reside in Oxford or within comfortable commuting distance. Teaching undertaken by the Lector is normally conducted at Yarnton Manor near Oxford.

The appointment is to begin on 1 October 2008. The salary will be on the University Grade 6 scale, £24,403-£29,138 a year, pro rata to average teaching hours worked in University Full Term from a minimum of 4.5 hours a week to a maximum of 16.5. In recent years the maximum of 16.5 hours has been required. The starting point on the salary scale is dependent on experience.
