FIXED-TERM DEPARTMENTAL LECTURERSHIP IN PHILOSOPHY,ASSOCIATED WITH A FIXED-TERM COLLEGE LECTURERSHIP AT CORPUS CHRISTI COLLEGE

Applications are invited for a fixed-term Departmental Lecturership in Philosophy, associated with a fixed-term College Lecturership at Corpus Christi College. Both Lecturerships are for the period 1 October 2008 to 30 September 2010, and are not renewable. The salary will be in the range of £26,666 to £32,796 a year (as at 1 August 2007).

Applicants should have a record of excellent research in Philosophy. The Faculty currently has particular teaching needs in the areas of moral and political philosophy, aesthetics, and philosophy of religion; preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate an ability to lecture in at least one of those areas. The successful candidate will be expected to give 16 lectures or classes a year for the Faculty; to give an average of six hours a week of tutorials and classes during term-time for the College; to undertake a limited amount of graduate supervision; and to participate in examining and administrative duties as required. Applications should include a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, a description of the subjects the applicant is qualified to teach, an account of his or her research interests, and the names and contact details of two referees.
