ONE-YEAR STIPENDIARY LECTURERSHIP AND DEPARTMENTAL LECTURERSHIP IN MEDIEVAL HISTORY

Applications are invited for a one-year fixed-term College and Departmental Lecturership in Medieval European History, tenable from 1 October 2008. The appointment is to fulfil teaching needs arising from a period of academic leave granted to Dr C. Holmes, and is non-renewable. Applications are welcome from those with active research interests in any field of Medieval European History in the period after 1100.

For the College, the appointee will be required to provide a total of eight hours of tutorial teaching a week during term, and to participate in the pastoral care of students and the administration of History with the College, including admissions and marking College examinations. The appointee will be a member of the Faculty of History, and will be expected to provide sixteen lectures or classes a year, and to participate in University examining at undergraduate and taught graduate levels.

The combined stipend of the post will be on grade 7, point 1 (currently £26,666 a year, with increases in May 2008 and October 2008), plus a range of College benefits.
