SENIOR TUTOR

Applications are invited by Sidney Sussex College for the post of Senior Tutor.

Sidney Sussex has 330 undergraduates, 190 graduate students, and 75 Fellows. The College enjoys a friendly atmosphere, strong academic performance, and excellent relationships between Fellows, staff, and students.

The Senior Tutor is a key figure in most aspects of College life and will play a central role in the strategic development of the College. He/she is a senior officer of the College, a Fellow, and an ex officio member of the Council and a number of key College committees. He/she has responsibility for the development and operational efficiency of all aspects of the education and welfare of students in the College. He/she leads the teams responsible for tutorial support for undergraduate and graduate students, and for admissions. He/she is expected to represent the College in the wider University and beyond.

The Senior Tutor is a full-time post and normally would be for a period of five to ten years. The pensionable stipend will be within points 57-66 on the University pay scale (currently £44,074 to £52,628 a year).

The successful candidate will have a strong academic background along with proven administrative, mentoring, and pastoral skills. An application form and further particulars may be obtained from the College website at http://www.sid.cam.ac.uk/. The deadline for applications is 16 May.
