University Offices

Deputy Director, Strategic Planning and Development, and Assistant Director, Planning and Analysis, in the Management Information Services Division of the University Offices

Due to the retirement of the current Deputy Director later this year, a reorganization within the Management Information Services Division (MISD) has created two new positions reporting to the Director, MISD.

The Deputy Director, Strategic Planning and Development is responsible for defining the long-term strategic services plans for the major University administrative systems in conjunction with stakeholders across the University. She/he will also have overall responsibility for the further development of these and the introduction of new services.

The Assistant Director, Planning and Analysis is responsible for business planning, departmental quality systems, financial control, and management within MISD. The post-holder will be responsible for adherence with industry best practice and University governance requirements.

Both positions have a strategic role in moving MISD forward to meet the current and future needs of the University. It is therefore essential that candidates can demonstrate a broad range of experience gained from within and outside the HE sector. With a strong emphasis on Business Services, candidates will be able to demonstrate that whilst experienced in technology, they understand the future demands placed upon IS services by a progressive university and that of HE Government bodies. A strong empathy with customer needs is essential.

Further information can be obtained from Giles Morrison, PSD Group, 85/89 Colmore Row, Birmingham, B3 2BB (tel. 0121 212 0099, e-mail giles.morrison@psdgroup.com). The closing date for receipt of applications is 3 April 2008.
