Churchill College

STUDY SKILLS TUTOR

Churchill College seeks to appoint an experienced and appropriately qualified person, on a part-time basis, as a Study Skills Tutor. The post-holder will further develop, teach, and support a programme of study and transition skills for undergraduate and postgraduate students. This will encompass English for academic purposes, reading and note-taking, essay-writing, and examination technique. It will be delivered via a mix of seminars/classes, small-group supervisions, and online support.

Face-to-face sessions will take place on some Friday afternoons and Saturdays during Cambridge terms. Online support will be offered at other times. Hours of work will reflect demand, but it is anticipated that the post will involve around 100 hours a year.

Payment will be made at the standard Cambridge hourly lecture/supervision rate (£71.50 per lecture; £23.84-£35.35 per supervision).

Applications should be by curriculum vitae and letter to the Senior Tutor, Mr Richard Partington, Churchill College, Cambridge, CB3 0DS. The closing date for applications is 14 March 2008.
