UNIVERSITY LECTURESHIP IN THE STUDY OF RELIGION IN ASSOCIATION WITH ST PETER'S COLLEGE

Applications are invited for the above post, tenable from 1 October 2008. The successful candidate should be an established scholar with a good research profile and able to contribute to various aspects of the work of the Faculty of Theology. The successful applicant will hold a non-tutorial Fellowship at St Peter's College.

The Faculty of Theology has a strong and growing commitment to the Study of Religion, and offers a range of courses in this area at both undergraduate and graduate levels. These include courses on Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Islam, and Christianity, on theology and science, and on different methodologies in the study of religion. The successful candidate will be expected to play a key role in delivering and developing teaching and research in a field that includes such areas as the history, sociology, psychology, phenomenology, and anthropology of religion. The salary will be in the range of £39,159 to £52,628 a year (grade 10a).

DEPARTMENTAL LECTURESHIP IN CHINESE HISTORY

Applications are invited for this fixed-term one-year teaching position in Chinese History, commencing 1 October 2008. The principal duties of the post are to give lectures and classes in Chinese History; to conduct research; and to examine. The post will carry with it an association with Pembroke College. The salary will be in the range of £26,666 to £32,796 a year (University grade 7).
