Graces submitted to the Regent House on 20 February 2008

The Council submits the following Graces to the Regent House. These Graces, other than any which is withdrawn or for which a ballot is requested in accordance with the regulations for Graces of the Regent House (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 109), will be deemed to have been approved at 4 p.m. on Friday, 29 February 2008.

1. That Lord Irvine of Lairg, of Christ's College, be appointed Chairman of the Septemviri to serve for four years from 1 January 2008.

2. That Professor Sir John Baker, of St Catharine's College, be appointed one of the Septemviri to serve for two years from 1 January 2008.

3. That Professor Dame Sandra Dawson, Master of Sidney Sussex College, be appointed one of the Septemviri to serve for two years from 1 January 2008.

4. That Professor Dame Jean Thomas, Master of St Catharine's College, be appointed one of the Septemviri to serve for two years from 1 January 2008.

5. That Dr Gishan Romesh Dissanaike, of Trinity College, be appointed a member of the Finance Committee of the Council to serve until 31 December 2010.

6. That, on the recommendation of the General Board, the Bernard Wolfe Professorship of Health Neuroscience, established by Grace 9 of 16 June 2004, be assigned to the Department of Psychiatry for the tenure of Professor Paul Charles Fletcher.1

7. That Deloitte & Touche LLP be reappointed, in accordance with Statute F, II, 5, to be the qualified accountants for the audit of the University's financial statements for the financial year 2007-08.2

The Report establishing the Professorship recommended that it be assigned to a Department within the School of Clinical Medicine once the research interests of the person elected could be taken into account. The Board have agreed that Professor Fletcher should also have duties in the Department of Clinical Biochemistry.
