Hertford College

BURSAR

Hertford College is seeking to appoint a Bursar who will be an Official Fellow and a member of the College's Governing Body. The Bursar plays a central role in ensuring the functioning of the College in its non-academic aspects, and thus requires a demanding combination of organizational, administrative, financial, and interpersonal skills. The Bursar is responsible for the implementation of the policies determined by the College's Governing Body and the day-to-day management of the College.

This wide-ranging brief includes, but is not restricted to: acting as the reporting officer for all non-academic College employees; responsibility for the College finances and business activities; maintenance of the Estates of the College and legislative compliance.

The successful candidate shall: be an experienced senior professional educated to degree level; be in sympathy with the culture and objectives of the College as a rigorous yet friendly intellectual community; be committed to open access and to excellence in research and teaching; have demonstrable management and financial experience with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The salary will be in the region of £60,000.
