University Lecturers

Appointments made at University Lecturer level will be for a probationary period of five years, with appointment to the retiring age thereafter. The pensionable scale of stipends for a University Lecturer is £33,779 to £42,791 a year.

University Lectureship in the Department of Chemical Engineering

The Department of Chemical Engineering is seeking to appoint a Lecturer to work at the interface of bio-science and chemical engineering. Applications are particularly welcomed from researchers in the fields of bio-product design, bio-pharmaceuticals, modelling, or systems biology. The Department of Chemical Engineering and the Institute of Biotechnology are planning to merge and this appointment is key to their activities in applying chemical engineering into biotechnology and health care.

The successful candidate will have, or will be expected to develop, a record of world-class research commensurate with the Department's international standing and research reputation. Teaching responsibilities will include contributing to all aspects of undergraduate courses and supervising graduate students. The successful candidate will be expected to take up appointment on 1 April 2008, or thereabouts.

University Lectureships in Judge Business School

Judge Business School is seeking to recruit exceptional candidates in the following subject areas: Business Finance and Financial Reporting.

Successful candidates will be able to provide clear evidence of intellectual excellence and the potential and ambition to establish a publications record in the leading journals in their field; they will have a Ph.D. Degree (or expect soon to receive one) in a relevant subject. Experience of teaching at undergraduate, postgraduate, or post-experience levels is desirable.

Appointments will be from 1 September 2008 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Programme Director, Certificate Programme in Genetics, at the Institute of Continuing Education

The Institute of Continuing Education (based at Madingley Hall) wishes to appoint a Programme Director to support and develop the Certificate Programme in Genetics and associated part-time Level 1 courses. Up to date knowledge of genetics and related research areas is essential, as is an enthusiasm to teach adults and to develop online learning tools. The position (0.3 of a full-time post) is available from January 2008 until September 2009 on the University Lecturer scale, salary point 9:49 (£33,779, pro rata).
