Notices by Faculty Boards, or other bodies concerned, of changes to the form and conduct of certain examinations to be held in 2007-08, by comparison with those examinations in 2007, are published below. Complete details of the form and conduct of all examinations are available from the Faculties or Departments concerned.
The Faculty Board of English give notice that, with effect from the examinations to be held in 2008, the form of the examinations for certain papers for the Anglo-Saxon, Norse, and Celtic Tripos will be changed as follows:
Candidates will be expected to answer four questions, one from each section, each worth 25%. Section A presents candidates with a choice of exercises in practical palaeography, two of which must be answered. In Section B, candidates are asked to comment on three out of a selection of eight images and texts. One essay question must be answered out of a range of questions in Sections C and D of the paper, those in Section D requiring candidates to draw examples from at least two of the geographical areas covered by the paper.
Sea-kings and the Celtic-speaking world c. 1014-1164
Candidates will be expected to answer question one and three other questions. In order to answer question one, candidates are asked to comment on three passages out of five provided. Three essay questions chosen from a range must also be answered. Each question is worth 25%.
Writing women
Candidates will be expected to answer question one and two others. Question one (worth 40%) requires candidates to translate and analyse one of three passages. Two essay questions chosen from a range must also be answered: each is worth 30%.

This paper is borrowed from the Historical Tripos and candidates for the Anglo-Saxon, Norse, and Celtic Tripos shall sit the examination under different conditions to those from the Historical Tripos. Candidates for the Anglo-Saxon, Norse, and Celtic Tripos will be expected to answer question one and three others. In order to answer question one, candidates are asked to comment on three passages out of five provided. Three essay questions chosen from a range must also be answered. Each question is worth 25%.
