Pembroke College invites applications for the post of Home Bursar. The post-holder will report directly to the Master and will be directly accountable to the College's Governing Body for the domestic activities of the College. S/he will be a Fellow of the College and member of the Governing Body, and as required, will represent the College both externally and internally at all levels. The Home Bursar will be responsible for all day-to-day operations covering accommodation, catering, IT, porters/security, facilities management, and maintenance. The Home Bursar will have responsibility for approximately 80 staff and will be fully responsible for the financial management and controls of the area under his/her responsibility. The Home Bursar will be fully accountable for driving forward the College's conference/functions business on a commercial basis, and this will also require relationship management of external clients.
The salary offered is £57,628 a year (including a housing allowance of £5,000). The post-holder will also be entitled to Private Health Care and other allowances. The post is pensionable with the USS Pension Scheme. Membership of the Senior Common Room (SCR), including full lunching and dining rights, will be provided. The holiday entitlement is 30 days a year, plus public holidays, normally taken outside term time.
