Department of Surgery Prize: Notice

The Professor of Surgery gives notice that a Department of Surgery Prize will be offered in 2008 for a dissertation on a subject of the candidate's choice related to surgery. Any person who has pursued clinical study in the University for the degrees of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery may enter for the Prize, provided that no dissertation shall be eligible for the award of the Prize if it is submitted more than two years after the candidate has passed the Final M.B. Examination.

A dissertation, typewritten, shall not exceed 5,000 words in length (excluding tables and diagrams), and its subject should be related to experimental and/or to clinical surgery.

The value of the Prize in 2008 will be about £600.

Candidates should submit their dissertations to the Professor of Surgery, Level 9, Addenbrooke's Hospital, Hills Road, not later than 20 June 2008.
