JUNIOR BURSAR

Trinity Hall is seeking to appoint a Junior Bursar. This is the College's senior domestic management role. It is full-time, reports directly to the Bursar, and is regarded by the Master and Governing Body as a major appointment. The College has approximately 360 undergraduates, 220 graduates, 50 Fellows, and 125 support staff, both full- and part-time - it is a dynamic and welcoming community. As one of the oldest Colleges in Cambridge, its buildings range in date from the fourteenth century to the present day and many are listed as being of special architectural or historic interest. Trinity Hall has an active programme of new construction and building refurbishment stretching out for many years. The appointee will play a pivotal role in College life. He or she will be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the College's domestic affairs, involving all aspects of Human Resources, as well as the management, through the direct reporting of the relevant Department Heads, of the Porters' Lodge, Buttery and Kitchen, Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Gardens and Sports Facilities functions. The Junior Bursar will be remunerated within a range of £45,000 to £55,000 (depending on experience).

Desirable attributes include: a proven and successful general management role with experience of leading diverse teams with excellent problem solving and project delivery skills; adaptability, calmness under pressure, resilience, and diplomacy; first-class communication and interpersonal skills; and the ability to operate effectively in a collegiate environment. Professional qualifications from the HR, construction, or hotel management/catering industries will be welcomed. The College would normally expect candidates to be educated to degree level or equivalent.
