PART-TIME PROJECT WEB DEVELOPER IN THE FACULTY OF HISTORY

Applications are now invited for the post of Project Web Developer in the Faculty of History. This is a fixed-term post (0.5FTE for 22 months, available immediately) funded by an exciting and recently awarded project, Around 1968: Activists, Networks, and Trajectories. A candidate is sought to play a leading role in the development of websites for the project, using a relational database (MySQL) to store key project data and one or more of the following languages: Ruby, PHP, Perl, and Javascript to create on-line interfaces to the database. The appointee will report to the Faculty's IT Officer and should have good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a small team and independently. Experience in creating AJAX enabled websites and using Ruby on Rails or similar MVC frameworks would be desirable, as would configuration and management of Apache or IIS webservers. The salary will be in the range of £23,002 to £25,889 (pro rata).

PART-TIME INSTRUCTORSHIP IN MODERN HEBREW

Applications are invited for a half-time Instructorship in Modern Hebrew, tenable from 1 October 2007 for one year. Applicants should have a native or equivalent command of Hebrew, and competence in the teaching of Hebrew as a foreign language. The salary will be in the range of £23,002 to £27,465 a year (University grade 6), 50% pro rata.
