The Vice-Chancellor gives notice that she has received with gratitude a most generous benefaction totalling US$2,000,000 to be donated to the University over five years from Mr and Mrs Thomas C. H. Chan to support graduate studentships in the School of Arts and Humanities or the School of the Humanities and Social Sciences for students who are domiciled or resident in the People's Republic of China.
The Council are submitting a Grace to the Regent House (Grace 1, p. 237) for the approval of regulations to govern the benefaction.
