University Lectureships in the Faculty of History

The Faculty of History is seeking to make two appointments at University Lecturer level in the field of South Asian History, since c. 1700, with effect from 1 October 2007.

Interviews are scheduled to take place in early/mid March 2007. Applications should include a curriculum vitae indicating teaching experience, a list of publications and major pieces of unpublished work, and the names of three academic referees. Referees should be requested to write directly to the Secretary of the Appointments Committee to reach the Faculty by the above closing date.

Appointments made at University Lecturer level will be for a probationary period of five years, with appointment to the retiring age thereafter. The pensionable scale of stipends for a University Lecturer is currently £32,471 to £41,133 a year and, from 1 August 2007, will be £33,779 to £42,791 a year.
