Notice of a benefaction

The Vice-Chancellor gives notice that she has received with gratitude an anonymous benefaction of £300,000 in tribute to the memory of Sir Nevill Mott, CH, FRS, formerly Cavendish Professor of Physics. The income from the benefaction will be used to provide Ph.D. studentships, bursaries, travel funds, and post-doctoral fellowships relating to research in Physics of the Environment in the Department of Physics.

The Council are submitting a Grace to the Regent House (Grace 1, p. 213) for the approval of regulations to govern the benefaction.
