Applications are invited for the above post, tenable from 1 January 2007 (or as soon as possible thereafter). The Professorship will be held in the Faculty of Law, and is attached to a non-stipendiary Fellowship at Oriel College.
The Professor will be expected to engage in research and to lecture and give instruction in law and finance. He or she will have an outstanding record of research and publication and extensive experience of teaching at graduate level and of supervising higher level research. Specifically, the Professor will be able to teach English financial and corporate law at the highest level, and it will be an advantage to have further comparative interests in Commonwealth, American, European, or other systems of corporate and financial law. It will be important for the new Professor to be able to work with the Saïd Business School and the Economics Depart-ment in building joint research and teaching programmes. An interest in interdisciplinary research and familiarity with economic and financial analysis of corporate finance, corporate governance, and security market regulation will be a further advantage.
This is a new, permanent University post held under the normal terms for a permanent appointment. The post is generously funded by Lovells for at least five years and includes, during that period, provision for support costs such as part-time secretarial support, research assistance, and IT support.
