Graces to be submitted to the Regent House at a Congregation on 22 July 2006

The Council have sanctioned the submission of the following Graces to the Regent House at a Congregation to be held on 22 July 2006:

1. That the title of the Degree of Doctor of Law honoris causa be conferred under Statute B, IV upon MANMOHAN SINGH, M.A., Prime Minister of India, Honorary Fellow of St John's College.1

That the following person be admitted to the degree of Doctor of Letters by incorporation:

2. ELIZABETH HELEN COOPER, Fellow of Magdalene College, Professor of Medieval and Renaissance English in the Faculty of English, Doctor of Letters of the University of Oxford (2004).

That the following persons be admitted to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy by incorporation:

3. STUART MATTHEW CLARKE, Fellow of Jesus College, University Senior Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry, Doctor of Philosophy of the University of Oxford (1991).

4. PETER ANDREW VINCENT SARRIS, of Trinity College, University Lecturer in the Faculty of History, Doctor of Philosophy of the University of Oxford (1999).

That the following persons be admitted to the degree of Master of Arts under the provisions of Statute B, III, 6:

5. STEPHEN PHILIP JACKSON, of St John's College, Quick Professor of Biology in the Department of Zoology.

6. ELIZABETH MARY ELVIDGE, Assistant Registrary in the Personnel Division of the University Offices.

7. MICHAEL JOHN GARRATT, Computer Officer, Grade III, in the Management Information Services Division of the University Offices.

8. CHRISTOPHER GILES PATTEN, Assistant Treasurer in the Finance Division of the University Offices.

9. PAUL ANTHONY PRENDERGAST, Computer Officer, Grade II, in the Management Information Services Division of the University Offices.

10. DIANE RAINSBURY, Senior Assistant Registrary in the Academic Division of the University Offices.

11. ROBERT WILLIAM SALTER, Senior Project Manager in the Local Examinations Syndicate.

12. ROWENA MAY SMALL, Administrative Officer, Grade I, in the Secretariat of the University Offices.

13. IAN DOUGLAS TROUPE, Senior Assistant Registrary in the Secretariat of the University Offices.

14. GORDON CRANSTON WISHART, Associate Lecturer in the School of Clinical Medicine.
