Magdalene College

ROOSEVELT SCHOLARSHIP

Magdalene College invites applications for Roosevelt Scholarships from well-qualified British and Canadian candidates who will be studying at the University of Cambridge for the M.Phil. Degree in matters relevant to Anglo-American relations. Successful candidates will have satisfied the provisional requirements of the Board of Graduate Studies of the University of Cambridge and have been accepted for registration on one of its postgraduate programmes, most probably at the Centre of International Studies.

The Scholarship is tenable for one year from 1 October 2006. Candidates must have graduated at a university before 1 October 2006. Consideration will normally be restricted to those who have a record of academic excellence consistent with the proposed field of study and who can demonstrate the potential to make a significant contribution to the broader life of Magdalene College, as well as to the wider interests of the Atlantic Studies Programme at the University of Cambridge.

In determining the value of the Scholarship in individual cases, the College will take into account candidates' income from all sources. A maximum individual award of no more than £4,500 will be made to a Scholar in 2006. It follows, therefore, that the majority of funding to meet the costs of University and College Fees and Maintenance will have already been met by the applicant.

Application forms are available from the Tutor for Graduate Admissions, the Admissions Office, Magdalene College, Cambridge, CB3 0AG (e-mail admissions@magd.cam.ac.uk). Completed application forms (five copies) should be returned to the Tutor for Graduate Admissions by 27 July 2006. Applications, and supporting references, must be received in hard copy by the closing date.
