FOUR-YEAR FIXED-TERM FELLOWSHIP IN ECONOMICS

Hertford College invites applications for a fixed-term, non-renewable Fellowship in Economics, tenable for four years from 1 October 2006. The post-holder will act as Director of Studies in regard to students studying Economics within the College, including those studying for Politics, Philosophy, and Economics, Economics and Management, and Engineering, Economics, and Management. The appointee should hold, or be in the process of completing, a doctorate in Economics from a major research university, and be able to provide evidence of published, or soon to be published, research. Candidates should have a proven high ability to teach undergraduates and to provide graduate supervision.

The teaching duties associated with this post will be in line with the standard load of social science academics in the University. The current salary scale is age-related and ranges from £28,945 to £47,078 at age 45, subject to review from 1 August 2006 and the introduction of the new pay spine. Additional housing and other allowances are also payable.
