FIXED-TERM DEPARTMENTAL LECTURESHIP IN ANCIENT PHILOSOPHY, ASSOCIATED WITH A FIXED-TERM COLLEGE LECTURESHIP AT BRASENOSE COLLEGE

Applications are invited for a fixed-term Departmental Lectureship in Ancient Philosophy, associated with a fixed-term College Lectureship at Brasenose College. This post is for the period 1 October 2006 to 30 September 2007, and is not renewable. Applicants should have a record of excellent research in philosophy. The successful candidate will be expected to give 24 lectures a year on topics in Ancient Philosophy, to give an average of six hours a week of tutorials and classes during term time for the College, to undertake a limited amount of graduate supervision, and to participate in examining and administrative duties as required. The salary will be on the Departmental Lecturer Scale (Grade A09), in the range of £20,044 to £26,470 a year (under review).

Applications (six copies, except from candidates overseas who need send only one) should include a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, a description of the applicant's teaching experience and the subjects the applicant is qualified to teach, an account of his or her research interests, and the names and contact details of two referees.
