REGULATIONS FOR EXAMINATIONS: NOTICES BY THE GENERAL BOARD

The General Board give notice that, on the recommendation of the Faculty Board or other authority concerned, the regulations for certain University examinations have been amended as follows:

Music Tripos, Part II

(Statutes and Ordinances, p. 348)

With effect from 1 October 2006

The regulations have been amended to clarify the choice of papers available for candidates for Part II of the Tripos:

Regulation 17.

By amending the final sentence of the regulation so as to read:

A candidate must offer a combination of papers that is examined by at least six hours of written examination.

Paper 3. Portfolio of advanced tonal composition

The detail for this paper has been amended to include wind chamber music and to extend the overall length of the portfolio as follows:

By inserting at the end of the second sentence:

', wind ensemble of between three and five instruments (one of which could be replaced by piano)'

and by replacing in the last line the words 'forty-five minutes' by the words 'sixty minutes'.
