Newnham College

COLLEGE LECTURESHIP IN HISTORY (FIXED-TERM)

Applications are invited from women and men for a College Lectureship in History at Newnham College, tenable for five years. Newnham, one of the University's 31 Colleges, is a College for women, with strong traditions in the teaching of History. Preference may be given to a candidate with active research interests in British or European History.

This appointment will be for five years and is fixed-term. It is hoped that the successful candidate will take up the post from 1 October 2006, or as soon as possible thereafter. The salary will be fixed at a point in the range £22,289 to £25,565 a year, depending on experience.

The successful candidate will be expected to direct studies, to share in the selection of candidates for admission to the College, and to provide small group teaching in at least one of the papers in Part I of the History Tripos. Full details of the syllabus can be found at www.hist.cam.ac.uk/.

IT MANAGER

Applications are invited for the post of IT Manager at Newnham College. The IT Manager is responsible (in conjunction with team members) for: developing the IT strategy for the College, in consultation with the IT Committee and key individuals; creative planning and management of development projects; managing and motivating the IT team; managing all aspects of computing hardware and system level software on the academic and administrative networks. The IT Manager reports to the Bursar and works closely with Senior College Officers and members of staff. The role is supported by the Assistant Computer Officer (full-time) and the Computer Support Officer (half-time).
