Announcement of lectures, seminars, etc.

The following lectures, seminars, etc. will be open to members of the University and others who are interested:

Department of Engineering. The sixth lecture of the fourth Annual Lecture Series in Sustainable Development will take place on 29 March in Lecture Room 0 of the Department of Engineering, at 5.30 p.m. for 6 p.m. The topic will be Flood risk management and sustainable development, and the lecture will be given by Ms Jean Venables OBE, Vice-President of the Institution of Civil Engineering, Crane Environmental.

The final lecture of the fourth Annual Lecture Series in Sustainable Development will take place on 26 April in Lecture Room 0 of the Department of Engineering, at 5.30 p.m. for 6 p.m. The topic will be A science for sustainable living by Dr Fritjof Capra, of Berkeley, California.

Institute of Continuing Education. Professor Sir David Watson, Professor of Higher Education Management, University of London, will give a research seminar on The University and civic engagement, on 22 March at 5.30 p.m., in the Quiet Room, Wolfson College, Barton Road. Light refreshments will be served afterwards.
