INAUGURAL G. L. S. SHACKLE BIENNIAL MEMORIAL LECTURE

Professor Dr Axel A. Weber, President of the Deutsche Bundesbank, will deliver the Inaugural G. L. S. Shackle Biennial Memorial Lecture entitled Interest rates in theory and practice, on 9 March, at 5 p.m. in Lecture Room LG18, Faculty of Law, West Road.

Entry is free and all are welcome. There will be a reception and bookstall following the lecture.

POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP(S)

Applications are invited for up to two postdoctoral non-stipendiary Research Fellowships tenable from 1 October 2006 for two years initially, with the possibility of renewal for a further year. Applicants should be of postdoctoral level or expect to attain it by 1 October 2006, should have adequate financial support from a grant or contract for research, and should normally be resident and conducting their research in Cambridge in any academic field. Successful candidates will be entitled to Fellow's commons.

Applications should include a current curriculum vitae, a research proposal, not normally exceeding 1,000 words, and the names of two referees, whom the candidate should ask to write directly to the Master, St Edmund's College, Cambridge, CB3 0BN. Short-listed candidates will be invited to submit a substantial piece of work relating to their research for evaluation. The closing date for receipt of applications and references is 17 February. It is hoped to interview candidates on 13 April.
