Economic and Social Research Council Centre for Business Research: Notice

In 1994 the Economic and Social Research Council agreed to provide core funding for a period of ten years for the Economic and Social Research Council Centre for Business Research. This funding has now ceased and the General Board have agreed that the reference to the research council should be removed from the title of the Centre and the regulations for its management (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 598), with immediate effect. The General Board, on the recommendation of the Committee of Management of the Centre, have further amended the constitution of the Committee of Management and the Advisory Board as set out below. The regulations have been amended, with immediate effect, as follows:

Regulation 1.

By amending the members of class (d) so as to read:

(d)the Executive Director of Research in the Faculty of Economics, the Director of the Judge Institute of Management, the Heads of the Departments of Geography and Land Economy, and the Chairmen of the Faculty Boards of Economics and Engineering, and one person appointed by each of the Faculty Boards of Law and Social and Political Sciences;

Regulation 5(b).

By amending this sub-paragraph so as to read:

(b)to co-operate with outside bodies in the encouragement of business research;

Regulation 9.

By amending the last sentence of the penultimate paragraph and the last paragraph so as to read:

The members in class (c) shall include at least nine persons who are not resident members of the University.

The General Board shall have power, after consulting the Director, to appoint two persons to attend meetings of the Advisory Board as observers.
