Local regional Rotary Clubs (District 1080) will award at least two major scholarships for the 2007-08 academic year.

A two-year master's degree program as a Rotary World Peace Fellow at one of the Rotary Centres for International Studies. Fellowships cover a 21-month period. This period includes two academic years as well as the three-month summer break between academic-year periods. Fellows are encouraged to pursue degree-related activities during their summer breaks, such as internships, volunteer work, and research.

The Fellowship will include funding for:

(a) Tuition and fees: university registration fees, tuition for a typical course load for the two-year degree program, and all other fees required by the university.
(b) Room and board: a monthly stipend for 21 months of room and board based on the reasonable cost of student living in the study area.
(c) Transportation: round-trip transportation between the Fellow's home and study cities at the start and end of the Fellowship period.
(d) Contingency expenses: a stipend to cover the cost of books and supplies, thesis costs, costs associated with service obligations, and other unanticipated costs.

An Academic-Year Ambassadorial Scholarship, which either provides funding for one academic year of study in another country covering round-trip transportation, tuition, fees, room and board expenses, and some educational supplies up to US$26,000 or its equivalent, or provides funding for two years of degree-oriented study when a flat grant of US$13,000 or its equivalent is provided per year toward the costs of a degree program.

Rotary may also offer, either in addition to the above two scholarships (if it is required), or separately, Cultural Ambassadorial Scholarships, which are either for three or six months of intensive language study and cultural immersion in another country and provide funds to cover round-trip transportation, language training expenses, and homestay living arrangements up to US$12,000 and US$19,000, respectively. Applications are considered for candidates interested in studying Arabic, English, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swahili, and Swedish.

Rotary wishes to hear from prospective candidates as soon as possible.
