Eliot Slater Prize in Psychiatry: Notice

The Professor of Psychiatry gives notice that the Eliot Slater Prize will be awarded in 2006 for the best essay entitled 'Impulsivity is a feature of antisocial and borderline personality disorders. Describe and discuss the meaning of 'impulsivity', its biological associations and strategies for its modification by drug treatment.'

The essay, which should not exceed 6,000 words, should be submitted by 2 June 2006 to the Departmental Secretary, Department of Psychiatry, Addenbrooke's Hospital, Hills Road. Selected candidates may be given a viva voce examination.

The Prize is open to clinical students who are to sit for Part I of the Final M.B. Examination in February 2006.

The value of the Prize in 2006 will be about £300.
