In accordance with the Statutes of Newnham College, the Fellows who are members of the Governing Body will meet during the Michaelmas Term 2005 to elect a Principal to take office on 1 August 2006, after the retirement of Baroness O'Neill of Bengarve. They announce their intention to elect Dame Patricia Hodgson, DBE, M.A., N, Hon D.Sc., City, Hon D.U., Essex.
