Robinson College

FINANCE BURSAR

Robinson College is seeking to appoint a Finance Bursar on the retirement of the existing Senior Bursar. The person appointed will be responsible for: financial leadership; strategic planning of all aspects of the College's financial affairs; providing day-to-day supervision of the College accounting practices; supervision of the staff of the College Office; overseeing the management of the Investment Portfolio, in conjunction with professional advisors and the Investment Committee.

It is expected that the person appointed will have considerable experience in all these areas of responsibility. He/she is also likely to be a chartered accountant or similar, with experience of investment banking and/or funds management. He/she will also need to be committed to the challenge of managing the financial affairs of a significant educational establishment in a tough financial environment.

The person appointed will be a senior member of the College management team and would become a Fellow of the College.

The post is likely to require approximately 25 hours a week, although a measure of flexibility will be expected in the pattern of hours worked over the year. Remuneration available would be commensurate with the responsibilities.

It is hoped that the successful candidate will be available to start with the College during the first quarter of 2006, at a date to be agreed. The closing date for applications is 17 June; interviews will be held in July.
