PRAELECTORSHIP IN EARLY MODERN HISTORY IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE FACULTY OF MODERN HISTORY

Lincoln College, in association with the Faculty of Modern History, invites applications from postdoctoral graduates or from graduates in the final stages of completing a doctorate, either women or men, for a one-year fixed-term non-renewable Praelectorship in Early Modern History from 1 October 2005.

For the College, the Praelector will be required to teach up to eight hours a week a term, to set and mark collections, and to participate in Admissions. In the Faculty of Modern History the duties of the Praelector will be to provide up to 16 hours of lectures and classes each year, including eight classes for the 'Further Subject: Literature and Politics in Early Modern England'.

The salary offered is currently £21,641 a year. Certain Common Room rights, a hospitality credit, and a book allowance are offered. The appointment is conditional upon the College being satisfied that the applicant has permission to work in the United Kingdom as required under the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996.
