In June 2001 the Council published a Notice (2000-01, p. 762) setting out changes to the provision of dental treatment in the University. In this Notice the categories of persons eligible for NHS treatment or for private treatment were listed. The categories included children of students and University staff. It is regretted that the Notice did not make clear that these children would only be treated if their parents were registered with the University Dental Service, although that was the intention.
