Vacancies in the University

University Lecturer

Appointments made at University Lecturer level will be for a probationary period of five years, with appointment to the retiring age thereafter. The pensionable scale of stipends for a University Lecturer is currently £24,820 to £38,303 a year.

University Lectureship in the Faculty of English

Applications are invited from established scholars with a significant publications record for a University Lectureship in any literary field in English since 1789. Appointment will be from 1 October 2005 or as soon thereafter as possible.

University Office

Administrative Officer, Grade II (Clinical Course Officer) in the Faculty of Clinical Medicine

The post-holder will undertake responsibilities relating to the management of the Clinical School's undergraduate courses including complex clinical placement and financial planning, course monitoring, design and maintenance of database scheduling, and liaison with regional partner hospitals. One day a week will be spent at the West Suffolk Hospital providing management support for the Cambridge Graduate Course.

The pensionable scale of stipends for an Administrative Officer, Grade II, is £22,508 to £29,127 a year. Appointment will be to the retiring age subject to satisfactory completion of a probationary period. Starting salary will depend on qualifications and experience.

Applicants should be educated to degree level and have at least three years of administrative experience preferably in a University or medical environment.

IT Support Manager in the Clinical School

The Clinical School IT Support Service wishes to appoint a Support Manager to be responsible for the IT helpdesk and frontline support operation. The successful candidate will be a computing professional with a good degree or equivalent qualification, and must have an established track record in IT support and experience of managing a team of highly technical staff. Experience of Windows 2000 Server, MacOSX, Microsoft Exchange, and Backup Exec would be advantageous.

The pensionable scale of stipends for this post is £30,362 to £32,666. The appointment will be for three years in the first instance, with the possibility of reappointment.
