New College

THREE-YEAR STIPENDIARY LECTURESHIP IN FRENCH

New College invites applications for a twelve-hour stipendiary Lectureship in French for three years from 1 October 2005. The post-holder will be required to offer 12 hours a week of language and tutorial teaching for New College in any two centuries of early modern (sixteenth- to eighteenth-century) literature, plus the normal range of pastoral and administrative activities. This post has been created to replace Dr Wes Williams. There is no possibility of renewal beyond the academical year 2007-08.

The appointment will be paid on the University Junior Lecturer scale: point 1 £18,374 to point 5 £22,507. The successful candidate will also receive a research allowance of £330, a book allowance of £470, and an entertainment allowance of £150. The Lecturer will be a member of the Senior Common Room, entitled to full rights of commons during term and vacation.
