Green College

ELECTION OF WARDEN

The Fellows of Green College are seeking to elect a new Warden in succession to Sir John Hanson who retires on 30 September 2006 after nine years in office. The Warden oversees the management of the College, chairs its governing body and its principal sub-committees, and represents the College both within Oxford and in the wider world.

Green College is a graduate society established by the University in 1979 with an emphasis on the relationship between human welfare, medicine, and the environment. The College is seeking a leader with vision and a clear perception of the way to take the College's educational endeavours and governance into the twenty-first century.

Ideal candidates will have academic or professional distinction; enthusiasm for and commitment to excellence in teaching and research; a proven style of leadership appropriate to a democratic, self-governing institution; and an active commitment to further develop the College.

Further information about Green College and the Wardenship can be obtained from the Vice-Warden (Professor John Sear), at Green College, Radcliffe Observatory, Oxford, OX2 6HG (e-mail john.sear@green.ox.ac.uk). The closing date for applications is 4 April.
