TRAVEL RESEARCH BURSARY IN THE ARTS

Owing to a generous benefaction from Professor J. R. Lander, Pembroke College is able to offer a travel bursary for the purpose of artistic or other cultural research, with a preference for the history of art (broadly defined). It aims to support residence and travel in the summer vacation of 2005, for a period of at least two months, in any foreign country, in ways that will assist subsequent graduate study. Any current member of the University is eligible to apply for support in the summer before beginning either the M.Phil. or Ph.D. Degree course in any relevant subject at the University. The successful candidate will hold at least a conditional offer of acceptance for the relevant course. Preference may be given to those who will be graduate students at Pembroke College. The sum awarded will normally be £1,500.

Candidates should apply to the Tutorial Administrator, Pembroke College, Cambridge, CB2 1RF, by 15 April, enclosing a curriculum vitae, a full statement of travel and research plans, and a copy of their application to the Board of Graduate Studies for postgraduate study. They should ask two academic referees to send a letter of support by the same date. Interviews will be held in late April or early May.
