Hertford College and the University of Oxford

FACULTY LECTURESHIP IN FRENCH

The University proposes to appoint a Faculty Lecturer in French in the Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages with effect from 1 October 2005. The post is associated with a Tutorial Fellowship at Hertford College.

Applicants will be expected to be a specialist in the Modern period (1800 to the present) and preference may be given to applicants with an ability to contribute to teaching and supervision in one or more of the following fields: nineteenth-century literature before 1870, nineteenth- and/or twentieth-century poetry, Francophone literature, gender studies, film. Applicants should have an outstanding research and publications record or potential.

The Fellow will be required to undertake at least nine hours' teaching a week for the College in relevant courses in French, and to give lectures and undertake graduate teaching and supervision for the Faculty.
