POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS IN ARTS AND SCIENCE

Lucy Cavendish College is offering one stipendiary and two non-stipendiary Research Fellowships for women* who hold Ph.D. Degrees**. The appointments will be for one year in the first instance from 1 October 2005 and will be renewable for a further two years subject to satisfactory progress and annual reports. Successful candidates will be expected to become members of the College, to reside in Cambridge, and to participate fully in College life.

Alice Tong Sze Research Fellowship

Applicants should hold a doctorate in an arts subject. The Fellowship is for study in the arts, especially languages, in a research area that relates scholarship to current issues facing the world.

For this Research Fellowship the stipend will be in the region of £15,500 a year, depending on funding already available to the candidate. Candidates who wish to work part time will also be considered, in which case the stipend will be pro-rata.

Ethel Cruickshank and Greenwood Bidder Non-Stipendiary Research Fellowships

The Ethel Cruickshank Fellowship is open to applicants who hold a doctorate in a scientific subject and who are in receipt of full funding for research in any area of science.

For the Greenwood Bidder Fellowship there is no restriction on subject, but in cases of equal merit, preference will be given to candidates working in the natural sciences, particularly the biological sciences. Candidates for this Fellowship should also hold a doctorate and be in receipt of full funding.

Both stipendiary and non-stipendiary Research Fellows are entitled to receive free weekday lunches during Full Term, and to a number of Formal and Informal Halls, Governing Body suppers, and special dinners as arranged.
